100km International Walk
The real "Night of Flanders"
All distances, the 100 km , the marathon and the 10 km walk start at 8.15 p.m. on Friday , June 18 th. This joint start with the runners competing in the ultrarun, marathon and 10 km race brings all the competitors to city the centre of Torhout. The 100 Km & 42 Km walks are split from the local loop (races and 10 km walk) after the passage through the forest at Groenhove. (Km 6)
- Flat course, starting in Torhout and leading to the woodland area and the villages to the south of Bruges. Bruges and some of its main tourist attractions (Lover's lake , the Ramparts and the Beguinage) are situated after +/- 66 km. The track is laid out along small roads, footpaths and countryside lanes.
- Time limit for the 100 km hike is between 12 and 24 hours.
- Possibility to start between 8.00 and 9.00 p.m. on Friday 18th June.
- Light snacks and drinks available in some 15 aid-stations. (included in the entry-fee)
- Transport of personal luggage to Beernem (Km 50) the half way aid-station, and to Bruges (Km 70).
- Reflective clothing and a torchlight are requested for safety reasons.
- Free transport to Torhout if one doesn't make it to the finish!
- On arrival competitors receive a diploma, a medal and a free T-shirt!
